The stainless steel plate has a smooth surface, high plasticity, toughness and mechanical strength, and is resistant to corrosion by acids, alkaline gases, solutions and other media. It is an alloy steel that does not rust easily, but not absolutely rust-free. Stainless steel plate refers to a steel plate that is resistant to corrosion by weak media such as atmosphere, steam and water, while acid-resistant steel plate refers to a steel plate that is resistant to corrosion by chemically corrosive media such as acid, alkali, and salt. Stainless steel plate has been around for more than a century since it came out at the beginning of the 20th century.

Product Description

The stainless steel plate has a smooth surface, high plasticity, toughness and mechanical strength, and is resistant to corrosion by acids, alkaline gases, solutions and other media. It is an alloy steel that does not rust easily, but not absolutely rust-free. Stainless steel plate refers to a steel plate that is resistant to corrosion by weak media such as atmosphere, steam and water, while acid-resistant steel plate refers to a steel plate that is resistant to corrosion by chemically corrosive media such as acid, alkali, and salt.

Corrosion resistance

Stainless steel has a similar resistance to general corrosion as the unstable Nichrome 304. Prolonged heating in the temperature range of chromium carbide degrees may affect Alloys 321 and 347 in harsh corrosive media. Mainly used in high temperature applications, which require strong resistance to sensitization of the material to prevent intergranular corrosion at lower temperatures.

High temperature oxidation resistance

Stainless steel plates are all resistant to high temperature oxidation, however, the oxidation rate will be affected by inherent factors such as exposure environment and product form.

Surface Feature Outline of manufacturing method Use

Dull
Hot rolled to specified thickness Applications that do not require a glossy finish
NO.2D Silver white Heat treatment and pickling after cold rolling General material, deep drawing material
NO.2B Gloss is stronger than NO.2D After NO.2D treatment, the final light cold rolling is carried out by polishing rolls General timber
BA Bright as a mirror No standard, but usually a bright annealed finish with a highly reflective surface. Building materials, kitchen utensils
NO.3 Coarse grinding Grinding with 100~200# (unit) abrasive belt Building materials, kitchen utensils
NO.4 Intermediate grinding Polished surface obtained by grinding with 150~180# abrasive belt Building materials, kitchen utensils
NO.240 Fine grinding Grinding with 240# abrasive belt Kitchenware
NO.320 Very fine grinding Grinding with 320# abrasive belt Kitchenware
NO.400 Gloss close to BA Grinding with 400# polishing wheel General materials, construction materials, kitchen utensils
HL Hairline Grinding Appropriate particle material for hairline grinding (150~240#) has a lot of abrasive grains Buildings, building materials
NO.7 Close to mirror finish Grinding with 600# rotary polishing wheel Art, decoration
NO.8 Mirror grinding Mirrors are ground with buffing wheels Mirror, decorative

International stainless steel marking method

The American Iron and Steel Institute uses three digits to designate various standard grades of malleable stainless steel. in:

①Austenitic stainless steel is marked with numbers of 200 and 300 series.

② Ferritic and martensitic stainless steels are represented by numbers in the 400 series. For example, some of the more common austenitic stainless steels are designated 201, 304, 316 and 310.

③ Ferritic stainless steel is marked with 430 and 446, and martensitic stainless steel is marked with 410, 420 and 440C, duplex (austenite-ferrite).

④Stainless steel, precipitation hardening stainless steel and high alloys with iron content less than 50% are usually named by patent names or trademarks.
